Arav Khan announces opening of Arav Jewellers on Facebook

Fugitive Rabiul Islam alias Aarav Khan, who is accused in a case filed over the murder of a police officer in Dhaka, has announced the opening of his jewellery shop Aarav Jewellers in Dubai in a Facebook post.

“Alhamdulillah (praise be to Allah), I opened Arav Jewellers today. You are all invited. [For] The love you have given me and the prayers you have offered for me, you will always be in my prayers,” he said in the post he made on Thursday.

Aarav Jewellers was launched in Dubai, UAE, on March 15 with a grand ceremony.
Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, Hero Alom and other renowned personalities from Bangladesh participated in the event.

Because of the publicity the program garnered, it came out that the real name of Arav Khan is Rabiul Islam.

Hailing from Gopalganj, Arav left Bangladesh four years ago after being accused in the aforementioned murder case.

According to the police, Rabiul escaped to India following the murder of Inspector Mamun Imran Khan of the Special Branch of the Bangladesh Police in 2018.

He got married there and obtained an Indian passport using a fake name, later travelling to Dubai with that passport.

When this matter came to the fore again, Arav Jewellers was closed on March 20 and all gold ornaments were removed from the shop.

The police have said they are making efforts to bring Arav Khan back to the country through the International Criminal Police Organization, commonly known as Interpol.
