A delegation of Bangladesh Buddhist Federation paid a courtesy call on Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman on Thursday.
During the meet, the delegation invited the army chief to take part their second largest religious festival ‘Shubho Prabarana’.
The Buddhist community is going to celebrate the religious festival on October 16. All Buddhist people of the world, including Bangladesh, celebrate the festival with religious fervor and solemnity. A week-long program is organized marking the day.
The festival will be celebrated in all monasteries, respective offices of the religious organizations and educational institutions.
The delegation also urged the army chief to keep the law and order situation and maintain religious harmony in the country.
The army chief said, “We are committed to provide financial cooperation and security measures to celebrate the day. Every Bangladeshi will celebrate their respective religious festivals in a festive manner.”
