A total of 45 Myanmar nationals, all belonging to the Chakma community, have entered the Ukhiya Rohingya camp in Cox’s Bazar.
On Monday morning, they crossed the Ghumdum Baishfari border in Bandarban and are currently in front of the Kutupalong Hindu camp in the Ukhiya Rohingya camp.
Police and administration are working on identifying them.
The matter has been confirmed by the acting UNO and Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Ukhiya, Jarin Tasnim.
She said: "A total of 45 Myanmar nationals have entered Bangladesh. We will inform you of the government’s decision regarding them later. The authorities have been informed of the situation."
The Myanmar nationals have mentioned that there is ongoing conflict in Myanmar's Rakhine State, making it unsuitable for them to live there.
