Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin emphasized the importance of working towards a dignified societal transformation, highlighting the significant role of journalists in this process.
He made these remarks as the chief guest at a scholarship check distribution ceremony for the children of late members of the Dhaka Reporters’ Unity, held on Saturday at the Dhaka Reporters' Unity hall.
The adviser said that over the past 15 years, a "criminalized civilization" had emerged in the country, with society deeply divided and people from all sectors living in fear.
Speaking on market conditions, he said that the prices of essential goods had slightly decreased and mentioned efforts to make the market more manageable ahead of Ramadan.
He added that maintaining a balance between supply and demand would be key, and he sought the cooperation and prayers of the media in this regard.
He also highlighted the reduction in the prices of sugar, oil, and onions, attributing these changes to the collective efforts of all.
Regarding education, he stressed that learning is an ongoing process, urging students to work hard and remain committed to their goals.
