The northern district of Panchagarh, located near the Himalayas, is experiencing a sharp drop in temperature.
For the past two days, temperatures have remained in the 10°C range, with the thermometer recording 10.5°C on Sunday morning.
On Saturday, the temperature was 10.4°C.
While the cold is a delight for tourists, it is causing discomfort for low-income locals.
Despite the freezing temperatures, people continue with their daily tasks, from harvesting vegetables to threshing rice.
The chilly nights and mornings have led to an increase in cold-related illnesses like fever, cold, and respiratory issues, with hospitals seeing more patients, especially among children and the elderly.
While the cold is pleasant for some tourists visiting to view the snow-capped mountains, the local population is struggling with the harsh weather.
