Staff Correspondent, Dhaka

Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs Adviser Supradip Chakma has said religion exists for the welfare of humanity and called on everyone to contribute to national development, transcending religious, caste, and communal differences.

"Every individual has the right to practice their religion freely. The interim government encourages people of all faiths to work together for the country's welfare," he said while addressing a Saraswati Puja program at the Officers' Club on Bailey Road.

"The country belongs to all of us. We aspire for a prosperous Bangladesh, and for that, people from all communities must unite and contribute to nation-building in the spirit of the July-August Mass Uprising," he added.

The adviser further said that upholding the essence of the uprising would bring transformative change to the country in the days ahead.

Later, he unveiled a commemorative souvenir, "Mangalok," lit a candle, and distributed financial aid to the families of the July-August martyrs.
