Attorney General Md Asaduzzaman has said that neighboring country conspired in the BDR massacre to establish dominance in Bangladesh, keep the Awami League in power, and establish a rule of looting.
He added that the country is now sheltering a murderer.
He made these comments during a shadow parliament debate competition on the BDR massacre at the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) in Tejgaon, Dhaka, on Saturday.
Md Asaduzzaman said: "The BDR massacre was not just a rebellion. It was an international conspiracy and a mass killing. The commission should strongly investigate whether leaders from the Awami League, Juba League, and Chhatra League participated in the Pilkhana massacre wearing BDR uniforms. Those masterminds, including Sheikh Hasina, will be brought to justice."
The Attorney General also commented that former army chief Moeen U Ahmed cannot escape responsibility for the BDR massacre.
He said: "Without Moeen U Ahmed's inaction, the Pilkhana massacre wouldn't have been possible. 57 army personnel were killed to destroy the country's sovereignty and prolong the chaos."
Asaduzzaman further mentioned: "The interim government formed a commission for the investigation of the Pilkhana massacre. Following a proper investigation, the judicial process has begun." He expressed hope that the formed commission would bring back Sheikh Hasina, who was ousted, and bring her to trial.
The BDR Darbar in Pilkhana began on the morning of February 25, 2009, at 9am.
During the speech of the Director General, some rebel members of the BDR launched an unexpected attack on the Darbar Hall.
In that attack, 74 people were killed, including 57 army officers.
It took two more days for the full extent of the brutal massacre inside Pilkhana to be understood.
On February 27, multiple mass graves were discovered inside Pilkhana.
