On Saturday morning in the garment factories of Savar and Ashulia industrial areas workers returned to work as the situation was normal. However, two factories announced holidays around 9 am.

According to relevant sources, no untoward incidents have been reported in the industrial area since the morning. Almost all factories are operational.

Additional police personnel have been deployed in front of the factories to prevent any untoward incidents. Army patrols in the industrial area remain active as well.

Khayrul Mamun Mintu, legal affairs secretary of Bangladesh Garment and Sweater Workers Trade Union Centre, said: "Workers have joined work at the factories since the morning. So far, no untoward incidents have been reported."

Superintendent of Ashulia Industrial Police-1, Mohammad Sarwar Alam, said: "Most of the factories in Ashulia started work on time today. However, Sharmin Garments and Ananta Garments remain closed. The situation is normal."

In the past few days, there has been unrest in the Ashulia industrial area due to protests by workers and job seekers from several factories.

To maintain a stable industrial environment, a joint operation was initiated under government directives.

Several people have already been arrested on sabotage charges, and security in the industrial area has been strengthened.
