Local Government and Urban Development (LGUD) Department of Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University has given departmental scholarship and Teacher Assistant Certificate" to their students' on Thursday (03 October) at 11 am.The programme was held on conference room of University. Total 11 students has gotten scholarship and 37 students has received "Teacher Assistant Certificates".
Md. Bakhtiyar Uddin, Dean of Social Science, was present as a special guest and Rakibul Islam, Head of the Local Government and Urban Development, chaired the event. The programme was anchored by Afroza Islam Lipi, Assistant Professor of Local Government and Urban Development. There was also present Assistant Professor Sadik Hasan Shuvo, Lecturer. Mustafizur Rahman, Lecturer Mahidul Islam Mahim and Lecturer Abu Sayem.
Md. Bakhtiar Uddin said, this department is 'standing out from the crowd'. This department is giving scholarships to the students on their own initiative which is admirable. The certificate that is given for teaching assistant will be useful in future jobs or going abroad.
Lutful Nasif Pulak, Student of Local Government and Urban Development Department said, Recognition always brings joy. It becomes even more meaningful when it is for a thankless task. Working as a teaching assistant has helped me grow as a person and refine my skills. Today's recognition fills me with joy and inspiration, and I hope this recognition will smooth our journey both in our professional careers and in higher education.
Mazhabin Mazhar Mithila, Student of Local Government and Urban Development said, LGUD has always been the best for exceptional initiatives. This scholarship from the department is truly an emotional thing for me. It has inspired me to achieve good results. And we are the first to receive the TA certificate at the university, for which I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all the teachers in my department, especially to our respected chairman Md. Rakibul Islam Sir.
Assistant Professor Afroza Islam Lipi said, it is undoubtedly a pleasure to be a part of a good work. The initiatives and activities of the Department of Local Government and Urban Development to provide scholarships to the students in various categories through the formation of Student Welfare Fund are really commendable and very inspiring for the students. Also, students who have completed their duties as Teachers Assistants in different academic years have been awarded TA certificates in recognition of their work which is a unique initiative in the history of the University so far. I express my gratitude for the guidance of our Honorable Head of Department and the cooperation of other colleagues in carrying out the assigned responsibility of organizing this event. While conducting while announcing the names of the students, another good feeling was working.
Rakibul Islam said, Head of the Local Government and Urban Development Department said, We are very happy to organize the scholarship award ceremony for the second time. Certificates of teaching assistants have also been issued. We believe, such programs will motivate students. Heartfelt thanks to those who worked hard to make the program a success.
