A Dhaka court has placed former railways minister Nurul Islam Sujan on a five-day remand in a case filed over the killing of Rafiqul Islam in Jatrabari area during the student-led uprising.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Saddam Hossain granted the remand period on Sunday.
The investigating officer of the case sought a 10-day remand for interrogating him.
During this time, the defence argued against the remand and requested bail.
After hearing both sides, the court denied the bail application and issued the remand order.
