The Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 in Rangamati has been lifted.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain Khan withdrew the restriction through a notification around 11am on Sunday.
The public notice stated that as the law and order situation has normalized, the deputy commissioner and district magistrate of Rangamati Hill District hereby lift Section 144 from 11am on Sunday.
Although the district administration has lifted the Section 144 restrictions, leaders of the Rangamati Transport Owners' Association have stated that the ongoing transport strike will continue.
Earlier, Section 144 was imposed at 1:30pm on Friday following the clashes that killed at least three people in Khagrachhari.
