The interim government now gave the special magistracy power to Bangladesh Air Force and Bangladesh Navy in order to improve law and order.

A gazette notification, signed by Senior Assistant Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, was issued in this regard on Monday, amending the previous circular that granted the power to the Bangladesh Army.

They got this power all over the country, including the capital like the officers of the armed forces (army captain and above).

On September 17, the public administration ministry in a circular said the eligible army officers will be able to act as executive magistrates across the country for the next 60 days.

In the latest notification, the ministry now granted the magistracy power to all commissioned members of the armed forces.

They can exercise their magisterial powers in respect of offences under Sections 64, 65, 83, 84, 86, 95(2), 100, 105, 107, 109, 110, 126, 127, 128, 130, 133 and 142 of the Code of Criminal Procedure 1898 (CRPC), the notification added.
