The Directorate General of Health Services, or DGHS, has transferred four senior officials, including two additional directors general, amid ongoing changes in the administration.

Prof Dr Ahmedul Kabir, additional director general (administration) of the DGHS, has been sent to the Institute of Public Health, or IPH, as its as director, the Health Services Division said in a notification on Thursday.

Prof Dr Meerjady Sabrina Flora, additional director general (planning and development), has been reassigned as the director of the National Institute of Preventive and Social Medicine, or NIPSOM.

Prof Dr Md Shamiul Islam, the outgoing director of NIPSOM, and Prof Dr Kazi Shafiqul Halim, the outgoing director of IPH, have been transferred to the Health Services Division, where they will await new assignments.

These changes come in the wake of widespread administrative restructuring following the resignation and departure of Sheikh Hasina on Aug 5 amid intense student-led protests.
