Bangladesh has reported one dengue death and another 264 new cases during the last 24 hours until this morning (September 16).
Last year, the country recorded 1,705 dengue-related deaths and a total of 3,21,179 dengue cases.
“During the period, 206 dengue patients were hospitalised in Dhaka city, while 58 were admitted to different hospitals outside the capital,” the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in a handout on Monday.
This year, the total number of cases rose to 19,342. The mosquito-borne disease claimed 108 lives during the period, said the handout.
