Kushtia Correspondent: A discussion meeting and prayers have been held to commemorate the 42nd death anniversary of Ekushey Padak recipient poet-lyricist Azizur Rahman (October 18, 1914-September 12, 1978). Local UP member Selim Uddin Biswas presided over the memorial meeting organized by the `Commemoration Day` committee at the poet`s graveyard at Hatsh Haripur Bazar in Kushtia Sadar Upazila at 10 am on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, Rabiul Islam, Assistant Professor, Department of Bangla, KhokosaGovernmentCollege, M Mushtar Hossain Masud, former UP Chairman, Hasan Ali, MA Qayyum and Bajlar Rahman spoke on the occasion. At the end, pilgrimage and prayers were held for the forgiveness of the soul of the poet.
