Kuakata is empty of tourists during Ramadan

One of the biggest tourist spots in the country’s Kuakata beach is empty of tourists during the holy month of Ramadan. Even on public holidays, the entire beach is empty, only a handful of tourists can be seen diving and swimming at Zero Point.
Beach sightseeing spots Jhowban, Shuntkipalli, Lemburban, Kuakata Udyan and the whole tourist area are empty. Although such images are seen during Ramadan, these spectacular spots in Madrush were visited by tourists during the last few months of holidays.
Local tourists said that a large number of tourists have come to Kuakata since the inauguration of the Padma Bridge. But suddenly, at the beginning of Ramadan, Kuakata beach, famous for mermaids, has become empty of tourists. However, tourism-related businessmen expect that many tourists will arrive around Eid.
Sushil Chandra, a tourist from India, said, "I came from West Bengal with the intention of visiting Kuakata. There are less people on the beach during the month of Ramadan because it is busy with worship. It would be nice if there were people.'
Tour Operators Association of Kuakata (Towak) Secretary General Zahirul Islam said that, due to Ramadan, our tourists have decreased a little. But there are some tourists after 15 Ramdan and quite advanced bookings after Eid. As a result, the hotels and motels are recovering their entire work.
Hafizur Rahman, sub-inspector of Tourist Police Kuakata zone, said, 'We have different teams working at different points in Kuakata. At present there are fewer tourists. I am fully supporting those who are now in Kuakata.'
