Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur observed Rokeya Day-2023 through various events. On this occasion, today (December 09, 2023) morning, the Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof. Dr. Md Hasibur Rashid, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Sarifa Salwa Dina and Treasurer Professor Dr. Mojib Uddin Ahmad. Later, various faculties, departments, offices and residential halls of the university paid tribute. Apart from this, tributes were paid by various social and cultural organizations of the university including the teachers' association of the university. Deans, Heads of Departments, Hall Provosts, Directors and teachers, students, officers and employees of various departments of the university were present on this occasion. Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Bangabandhu Mural at 10 am. A procession was taken out under the leadership of Md Hasibur Rashid. The procession circled the main main road of the campus and ended at the Independence Memorial Ground.
Later, the discussion meeting and publication unveiling ceremony organized on the occasion of Rokeya Day, as the chief guest, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Hasibur Rashid and other guests unveiled the cover of the 'Rokeya Path' publication. Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor said that Begum Rokeya awakened not only the women but also all the people of the society and brought them to the path of light. He also expressed hope that the commemorative book published on Begum Rokeya's philosophy will play an important role in knowledge practice and research in the future and that this compilation will continue every year on Rokeya Day in Begum Rokeya University.
Begum Rokeya Day Commemoration Committee Convener and University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. The treasurer of the university, Prof. Mojib Uddin Ahmad. Mir Tamanna Chiddika, Head of Department of Gender and Development Studies, presented the paper in the discussion meeting. The Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Prof. Dr. participated in the discussion. Shafikur Rahman and the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences Professor Dr. Md. Morshed Hossain. Md. Asaduzzaman Mandal Asad, General Secretary of Teachers' Association and Pomel Bara, President of Berobi Chhatra League, spoke at the meeting among others. Member of Begum Rokeya Day Program Organizing Committee and Assistant Professor of Political Science Department Mosha Razia Sultana gave a welcome speech at the function by Committee Member-Secretary and Deputy Director of Public Relations, Information and Publication Department Mohammad Ali.
