QC’s new aid benefits 32,400  refugees in Bhasan Char

Qatar Charity, with the support of philanthropists in Qatar, has provided gas cylinders as a new aid to the Rohingya refugees in Bhasan Char, to alleviate the hassles of daily cooking for 32,400 refugees on the island. 


Qatar Charity, in coordination with UNHCR, a UN refugee agency, continues this intervention that benefitted nearly 100,000 refugees last year, said a press release on Saturday. 


The new aid has been delivered for the months of January and February to the Rohingya Families who have been living on this island, 60km away from the mainland, since 2021.

Qatar Charity also provides repair support for the stoves they use for cooking. This support benefits around 800 families monthly. 

The beneficiaries thanked Qatar Charity and its patrons for providing aid regularly. 

QC’s relief interventions in Bhasan Char benefitted 550,000 individuals in the last 3 years. It provided food and non-food relief to meet their essential needs.
