A mild earthquake felt in Rangpur

On Friday, at 8:28 p.m., a mild earthquake lasted for a few seconds and was felt in Rangpur and the surrounding areas.

Mostafizur Rahman, a meteorologist at Rangpur Met office, said the quake's epicenter was 21km from Shamsi in Bhutan. Its magnitude was 4.1 on the Richter scale. However, no casualties were reported.

Meanwhile, the National Center for Seismology (NCS) in India reported that the earthquake originated 5km deep in the ground, 62km from Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan, and had a magnitude of 4.4 on the Richter scale.
