2 groups clash in Baitul Mukarram, 3 injured

A clash broke out between the supporters of the former Khatib (narrator) and the current Imam (prayer leader) at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque on Friday.

At least three people were injured in this incident. However, the police arrested one person after tackling the situation.

Former Khatib Maulana Md. Ruhul Amin entered the Baitul Mukarram with a group during Jumu'ah (Friday) prayers. In such a situation, when the followers of Imam Maulana Abu Saleh Md Patwari, who is in charge of Friday prayers, saw them – clashes and fights occurred between the supporters of both. At this time, two to three glasses of Baitul Mukarram mosque were broken.

The police took control of the law and order situation after receiving information about the clash between the two sides. After this incident, former Khatib Maulana Ruhul Amin left the mosque area.

The situation in the Baitul Mukarram mosque area is normal now.
