Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan, adviser for the ministries of youth and sports as well as labour and employment, addresses an event organized by the Department of Youth Development at the National Sports Council auditorium on Sunday, September 22, 2024.

Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan, adviser for the ministries of youth and sports as well as labour and employment, has urged everyone to follow traffic laws.

The adviser made the appeal on Sunday during the inauguration of a two-day training course on traffic management and social awareness, organized by the Department of Youth Development at the National Sports Council auditorium.

Under this course, 2,100 individuals will be trained in seven batches, with each batch consisting of 300 people.

Asif said traffic congestion was one of Bangladesh's major issues, leading to a loss of valuable work hours.

He mentioned that after the fall of the fascist government on August 5, the country went without a government or traffic police for three days.

“During this time, students took to the streets to restore order. Despite having no formal training, young students worked tirelessly day and night to manage traffic, and their efforts made the absence of traffic police hardly noticeable. Moreover, these youths played an important role in maintaining law and order in the country by working relentlessly day and night.’

The adviser added that the youth must take responsibility for rebuilding the nation. "We want to build a modern, beautiful country by utilizing the strength of youth. For this, everyone needs to be aware of traffic laws, and social awareness about traffic management must be spread. The traffic system must transition from manual methods to modernization," he said.
