Abu Sayem, Cox`s Bazar: Kutubdia police have arrested a drug dealer along with yaba in Kutubdia upazila of Cox`s Bazar. On July 27 (Monday) at 12.30 pm, Officer-in-Charge AKM Shafiqul Alam Chowdhury led SI Mosleh Uddin Bablu, SI Sanjay Sikder, ASI Alamgir Hossain and ASI Anwar along with allied forces conducted a raid in Madhyam Muraliya of Baraghop Union and detained with 25 peice yaba.The arrested drug dealer is the son of late Shafiqur Rahman of the same union.
According to police sources, Juinna was arrested along with Yaba on the basis of secret information. Reviewing the CD MS, it is seen that there are several drug cases against him in Kutubdia police station. Officer-in-charge of Kutubdia Police Station AKM Safiqul Alam Chowdhury said the arrested drug dealer would be handed over to the court after filing a case under the Narcotics Control Act. Special operations will be conducted under the direction of Superintendent of Police ABM Masud Hossain BPM (Bar) and Kutubdia Maheshkhali Circle ASP Ratan Kumar Dasgupta to transform Kutubdia into a model upazila with normal law and order situation free from drugs and pirates. With zero tolerance against drugs, all activities will continue in Kutubdia Upazila with the announcement of a competent police super to make Cox`s Bazar drug free by December 16. He called upon the police to cooperate with information in carrying out their overall responsibilities
