Citing a human rights body’s report of the deaths of 875 people in the July-August massacre during the quota reforms movement, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said 422 of the total martyrs were supporters and activists of BNP.
Addressing a press conference at the BNP chairperson’s political office in the capital’s Gulshan area on Sunday morning, the BNP leader said the identities and addresses of the martyred BNP activists will be published on the party’s website soon.
Mirza Fakhrul said, “The movement is not an isolated incident. Rather, it is an inevitable result of their long political struggle.”
