Bangladesh’s Muaz wins int’l Hifzul Quran competition

Bangladeshi Hafez Muaz Mahmud has won first place in the ninth International Hifzul Quran Competition held in Turkey.

Hafez Muaz Mahmud was selected as the sole representative of Bangladesh for the International Hifzul Quran Competition. 

He received the crest and award from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday (October 30) local time.

Muaz was selected as the sole representative of Bangladesh for the International Hifzul Quran Competition after securing the first place in the selection round of the competition under the supervision of the Islamic Foundation at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.

 Besides, Bangladesh won first place among 123 countries in the 44th International Hifzul Quran Competition held in Makkah on August 21 this year. At that time, Hafez Muaz Mahmud won first place in the 15-para group.

 Hafez Muaz is a student of the Department of Kibtab at Markazu Faizil Quran Al-Islami, Mirpur-1, Dhaka.
