Expatriate journalist Shawkat Osman Rachi as President and Md. Mashiur Rahman Majumder have been selected as General Secretary of 17-year old America Bangladesh Press Club (ABPC) in New York of United States of America at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at a local restaurant for the year of 2025-26on December 10. Shawkat Osman Rachi is working as the editor of a online news portal named The banglakhobor.news while Md. Mashiur Rahman Majumder is working for the Weely Khabor as its editor.
At the same time, seven members of executive committee of the ABPC have been selected.
Other members of the executive committee are: Vice President Manjurul Haque (The Weekly Prothom Alo), Joint Secretary General Abu Bakkar Siddique (The Weekly Ajkal), Treasurer Mallika Khan Munna (My TV), Executive Members-Mohammad Sayeed (The Weekly Probash), Darpan Kabir (The Weekly Desh Kanto, Tofazzal Litan (The Daily Prothom Alo) and Shameem Ahmed (TBN24TV).
The existing executive committee of the ABPC has been endorsed 16 more new members for the ABPC.
Among others, Business America editor Enamul Haque Enam, The South Asian Times Editor Deepak Kumar Acharjee, Weekly Probash Editor Waliul Alam, monthly Progga editor Uttam Kumar Saha, Weekly Deshkantho publisher Sima Sushmita, Shafiqul Islam Saku, Tapas Kumar Saha, Md. Azizul Haque, Md. Ariful Rahman, Md. Mahe Alam James, Enam Chowdhury, Khorshed Alam Rinku, Shamim Ahmed and Kamrul Hasan were attended the event.
America Bangladesh Press Club (ABPC) is an organization of Bangladeshi journalists living in New York and other cities of USA. It is founded in 2008 in New York. The aim of the press club is to build a strong network among Bangladeshi Media Professionals (journalists, editors, reporters, publishers, etc) who are working in different states of the USA.
