Cyclone Fengal, which formed over the Bay of Bengal, crossed the Tamil Nadu coast in India on Saturday night and has since weakened into a deep depression.
It is now located over northern Tamil Nadu and adjacent areas.
Due to its effects, the sea remains rough, prompting authorities to maintain the No. 2 remote warning signal at four seaports in Bangladesh.
According to the latest weather bulletin, Cyclone Fengal has moved west-south-westward and weakened further into a deep depression. It is currently situated over northern Tamil Nadu and surrounding areas and is likely to move further westward.
As the sea remains rough, the Maritime Ports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla, and Payra have been instructed to hoist remote warning signal No. 2.
All fishing boats and trawlers in the North Bay and the deep sea are advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.
The weather forecast until 6pm on Sunday indicates that light rain may occur in two places each across Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal, and Chittagong divisions.
In other parts of the country, the weather is expected to remain mostly dry with a partly cloudy sky.
Night temperatures are likely to rise slightly, while daytime temperatures may experience a slight drop across the country.
